I-14 Safety Standard
DBR WORKS WITH YOU AND THE I-14 SAFETY STANDARD
The ANSI/IWCA I-14 Standard was approved by ANSI on October 25, 2001 as an American National Standard. It is rapidly becoming recognized as the primary guide to window cleaning safety nationally. All states, including Florida, have begun to adopt the I-14 Standard.
With the support of BOMA, the standard seeks to consolidate existing Federal OSHA regulations and other relevant ANSI Standards relating to regulated equipment and practices. Under the new guidelines, window cleaners and commercial property professionals each have specific requirements that need to be fulfilled.
THE I-14 SAFETY STANDARD ASSURES WINDOW CLEANING SAFETY
Although compliance with the I-14 Standard is not mandatory, it is now being considered as the standard of care any reasonable business would use in conducting its affairs.
